Indian Idol!!

Hello, everyone! Hope you all are doing great in life.

You must have got excited after reading the title, right? Let me tell you that I gave the Web Auditions for Indian Idol and surprisingly I got a call from them and they said that I have cleared the Round of Web Auditions and now I have to appear for Ground Auditions which were held on 19th November’16 in Dwarka.

The call gave me an instant rocket energy and I was soooo sooo happy. I told my parents and my friend (Sha) about it. They too were very happy and excited. Though initially, I thought that it is a prank call (you know the way they do these days on the radio… and you’ll not believe that I even asked this from the person who called me from Indian Idol!!) Me and Sha checked it on TrueCaller that whether the no. is true or fake. And, we got a big relief when we saw it registered with the name “Indian Idol”.

That moment really gave me goosebumps. I can never explain how happy I was!!

Then, the preparations went on and on and on till 18th November’16 and the most difficult part was to select the best song which suits my voice and we chose Saiyaan by Kailash Kher. My recording is attached below, so can hear it!!

19th November’16 came with an all new experience of a reality show. Afterall, it was my first attempt. The venue was packed with singers and that was a day where I can say that music was actually there in the air!!! People were singing and singing, some were busy in giving suggestions to the freshers like me and few others in my queue. We reached there at 8am and the gates opened at 9:45am. I, along with my parents stood in the queue for approximately 3hours OUTSIDE THE ENTRY GATE!! And in between the struggle, the camera finally caught me (yeah!!!). They came with the camera and mike, although they selected a person next to me but I don’t know why he wasn’t able to face the camera and then the camera said, “Call the girl with Red Cap! We’ll take her interview, she is soo excited!!” I just jumped in front of the camera with my bigg smile which was not at all shortening ;P ;P Then the interviewer started asking me questions and you know what I felt like a Celebrity ( shhh… don’t tell this to anyone :P) and in the end he asked to sing a song so I sang Teri Deewani by Kailash Kher because I didn’t want to reveal my real song in front of the public, it was kept for the auditions. (hehe!!)

 

We finally started to move ahead but the crowd loves snail walk. So we all had to copy the snail if we want to go through the further rounds. The struggle was very difficult, in the sunlight without food… But the enthusiasm acted as the Energy Drink. The camera rolling and the cheer for Idol was filling each of the participants with confidence and nervousness also at times. Again, after 2:30 minutes I reached the registration desk and there I met Mr. Karan Wahi! He was hosting the show. This also energized the young singers. Then the real examination came and we had to clear four rounds to reach the Judges Auditions. And, I was able to clear only two of them and lastly, I was back to my parents!!

The auditions ended but the spirit is still alive. I  will keep on the training the singer inside myself so that I can improve, improve and improve…

Finally, we were back home and I got to experience, pictures, and musical memories as a return gift from Indian Idol. When my friends got to know about this (because I didn’t told them before going!) they too got super excited. I was getting calls, messages… Again the Celebrity feel started coming (haha!)

All I can say to wind up my amazing experience is that a Call can change your life!!

Go ahead if you feel that you can do something interesting and new. Forget what people say because at the end you are the piolet of your life, no one can take the responsibility of steering for you! 

Thank you God for making this happen by giving a chance to a person who has never taken any training. Going too far in the show was not my dream as clearing the rounds gave me satisfaction!!
