“A thousand thoughts won’t get you there unless it includes a thousand steps.”
How many thoughts starts blooming in your brain box when I say you to give a single thought in the word ‘Thought’? Thousand, ten-thousand… probably infinite thoughts! One after the other, they’ll start blooming the way rain drops bloom and falls from clouds. The speed of both the things is very fast and so our actions!
After all, most of our actions are reflexive. And, maybe that’s one of the reasons why we feel regretful when the final result comes in the picture. However, there are times when we take a lot of time to think and again face the regrets.
So is it okay to over think and fill ourselves with all light and dark shades of thoughts or is it okay to not even think for a second and do what we want to and form any sought of a decision. Practically thinking, there does not exist any parameters which can actually measure the level of thoughts required for any decision. If at all it existed, they must be used by all of us the way we use Social Networking Sites these days as they would be alarming in every instance, when the level of our thoughts crosses the normal domain.
And, I am sure that they would definitely prove beneficial for everyone but especially for the ones who over think because the people who over think, go on and on… there’s no limit, not even the sky! And the result is that they are pretty slow not in the sense of intellectuality but in the sense of understanding what exactly intellectuality is?
The quote says that thousand steps will help one reach the destination and thousand thoughts won’t! Is it really true? Think about the time when you were about to go into something new, something more challenging… the time was continuously stretching the gap between what you were and what you are and I am sure that all of us had those thousand thoughts… right or wrong, good or bad, happy or sad and most importantly satisfying for yourself or for others??
Thus, I think along with those thousand steps, thousand thoughts do matter, each thought for every single step. As a step must not be taken without a thought though we often enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.
P.S: Action without a thought is impulsive, and thought without an action is procrastination!
