The days which made our feet wet in mud during rains, the crushed ice lolly which changed the boiling afternoons into the cool breeze. Playing games like spinning top, hide and seek, etc. with all our street friends, was such a great delight for a child’s heart and soul. The joy of such games has flown away with the mud of the big playground and is hidden somewhere under the ground of tall buildings.
And now, we can very well see the new versions of kids with latest models of PSPs, computer games! As we are moving towards technological upgradations, we are making the new generation flunky of all these computer and video games.
People are really thankful who had a childhood before the technology took over. There were no computers games, no cable TV and definitely no internet in the beautiful season of life. But they have a wild and creative imagination with their siblings and neighbors was such a treat! Those were the days which anyone of that era would not forget.
The age did not matter at all, in all those games. Children always used to get a shouting from their parents if they stayed at home. But obviously, they were not at all bad kids. Just impressionable, conflicted young people wrestling with emotions and impulses, trying to communicate their feelings and needs the only way they know how.
But when you finally go back to your old hometown, you find it wasn’t the old home you missed but your childhood. When anyone gets a chance to play ‘hide n seek’ with their friends, we really feel rejuvenated. Though it was just an hour game but it felt as if we are again living our childhood.
Ultimately, best childhood is when your curfew is like a lightening bug. Your parents don’t call at your cell, they yell your name. You play outside, not online! And, most importantly, you must eat what your mom cooked, otherwise not !!
